Tongues – Testimonial and Biblicality

First of all, I hope you get better.
Also, congratulations on this video it has really put things into perspective. So it is important to express our feelings. And for broken introverts like us, you have figured out a way to do it internally without ego involvement. Genius.
Bear with me as I gather my thoughts and try to make sense of it now. I’m a bit of a mess now though, but I’ll do my best. I know this is important because as I write this I feel a strong presence in my chest and gut.
I closely examined your vocal tonality and modulation throughout this video. I watched it several times just to be sure.
Throughout the video you are in touch with your feelings all the time. But I don’t think you are doing two things at once. Thats quite impossible. Perhaps another way to look at it is that you are getting in touch with your feelings at the moment and directing the course of them. You direct them towards your God when you are thinking. But when you are talking, you project them outwards.
It is clear in the way you speak and also in the way you act. You have strong feelings towards the people you talk about at the start of the video. And when you are talking about them I can, in your own words, hear your soul. You seem a bit sad, and your voice cracks at some points. Your voice goes higher and lower at times, you take deep breaths and sigh. Your whole body is starting to get involved. You use gestures like clutching your chest and snapping your fingers. These are marks of an expert extroverted public speaker.’
I’m also seeing a lot of similarities now with the way you speak and the way Tyler Durden does in some of his videos. He also attempts not to have any notes and gets lost sometimes. Perhaps he has his own way to get back to reality.
I’m on to something. My brain probably figured it out already but it’s tough to put it into words. I’m curious now which path to take in order to ”fix myself”.
About my own experience with tongues. Suffice to say it was painful. VERY painful. And I can’t get enough of it.
* Is Koanic tongues Biblical?
J TT: In addition to what I wrote in my e-mail I also wanted to know how the way use tongues differs from some of what I see in the bible in that it mentions that tongues is for the edification of the body. That traditionally, somone may speak in tongues and another may interprete it. I don’t see how this fits with what you have said.
Koanic: it doesn’t say tongues is ONLY for edification of body
Koanic: the context is contra praying in tongues without interpretation
J TT: But do you do the other side of it?
J TT: Other then teaching us, do you do tongues for anyone but yourself?
J TT: That is a problem
J TT: You are talking to the spirit but not allowing it to talk through you
Koanic: the Bible doesn’t say that
J TT: Part of the reason for tongues is for God to speak to us through the spirit, or am I completly off base here?
Koanic: that is one of the uses, sure
J TT: Just not important to you here or not important to you at all?
Koanic: I would be delighted if I met someone who I believed could actually translate what I was saying
Koanic: instead of rendering some anodyne Churchian useless crap
J TT: While I admire your, I don’t really know what to call it, forwardness, don’t you ever consider that what you are actually doing is something other then tongues?
Koanic: I was taught by serious people
Koanic: it’s tongues
Koanic: our family pastor is a bit of a heavyweight
J TT: It just seems like you are sending messages but I don’t hear anything about receiving anything. If what we believe is real then there should be some back and forth.
Koanic: well dude hold one
Koanic: I think you’re confused about ecstatic versus regular tongues
Koanic: my normal patter is pretty damn repetitive, I reckon it’s just something I’m mostly saying to God
Koanic: nothing particularly revelatory would come of it if translated, just my personality and motivations etc
Koanic: now if you were hit by an ecstasy and started saying totally different pattern, then yeah that’d be worth translating
Koanic: that’s the Spirit speaking through you
Koanic: well both are
Koanic: but one’s a message, and the other is just your indwelling converssation
Koanic: er monologue
J TT: Ah, I see, now I feel better.
Koanic: you’re not always getting messages from the throne of heaven
Koanic: that’s pretty rare even for Jesus it only happened once
Koanic: but he still had the Spirit in him, probably
Koanic: however that works
J TT: Not for us to know
J TT: Or not neccessary really
Koanic: yeah if I got an ecstatic message I’d be very interested in what it said
Koanic: but for just my normal patter, I pretty much know it’s the same vehement stuff I say to myself at certain times
Koanic: same feeling
J TT: I guess I just have been experimenting in speaking in tongues in general since I’ve been expanding it from just expressing pain and frustration. For me, I really do want to be able to ask God for what needs to be heard and be able to express it even if I need someone else to say what it means. I want the whole deal.
Koanic: that’s all great but it’s a sideshow as far as KS is concerned
Koanic: getting the range in your tongues has to come from YOU
Koanic: YOU have to get determined, get pissed, like that, about your mission
Koanic: to glorify God
Koanic: and then put that into tongues
J TT: Makes sense. KS is a part of what I’m working on, not all of it.
Koanic: tongues isn’t going to magically take over and give you emotional range
Koanic: 99.999% of the time you’re in control
J TT: Thanks, that helped.
Koanic: remember that you need a full-range soul to be effective for the Kingdom
Koanic: otherwise the world will view you with contempt for YOUR sake instead of Christ’s and you’ll be bad PR for the Kingdom
Koanic: there’s your motivation right there
J TT: Good words, fits with some other things I’ve been thinking.
