My goal is to keep Koanic Soul open to all Neanderthals.
At the same time there’s only one of me and there’s a lot of Neanderthals out there. My individual conversation time is cutting dangerously into my productivity time, to drive the site forward.
I’m not really ready yet to start charging for KS content – major questions about how tongues works and whether you have to be Christian are still being resolved. It clearly works for strong Christians; we’re still determining if it can work for those who aren’t.
But I need some way of protecting my time. I’ve got enough people involved to get all the feedback I need, and adding more 1:1 mentoring responsibilities is counterproductive, particularly phone conversations.
I think the best way to resolve the problem is to let people continue to join for free, but not accept phone calls from new members unless they pay a “premium support” fee.
This does NOT apply to members who joined before this post went live.
The point of this fee is not to make money, just to protect my time. So probably a minimal barrier will work. $10 just sounds stupid. I guess $20 is right. And that would grant lifetime calling rights, within reason. I don’t like the idea of conversations on the clock.
Obviously $20 isn’t a rate I would want to “work” for – this isn’t about that.
If this barrier doesn’t work, I will have to raise or alter the price structure. I expect that will eventually happen. When, I don’t know.
If I’ve been talking to you, don’t take this to mean I regret the conversation. This is purely a realization driven by awareness of the sheer quantity of time I’ve been spending lately in individual communication. Without open channels of feedback, Koanic Soul would have no hope of progressing.
And of course, I reserve all rights to initiate calls!
